From Grade 3 to Grad Class

The students in this year’s teacher training grad class were in Grade 3 when the Support a Class program launched ten years ago. And there are some class supporters who have been walking alongside them since 2015!

Over the course of ten years, sponsors Henry & Eileen and Jennifer & Shane have been a part of these students’ lives. Some students were in their sponsor class right from the very start, others joined as classes combined in higher grades or as new students started attending Vida school.

It was a joy to see pictures of them growing up year by year as I received updates from the Impact sponsorship program,” shares Henry. “And in-person visits, with activities, food, and other surprises were the highlights.”

“We visited them three times” shares Jennifer. “We were so excited to be able to follow their progress over the years. I had old pictures on my phone and would show them to the kids, and they were so excited to see their younger selves!”

What makes sponsoring a class special?

“Because I have been to Guatemala with Impact Ministries a number of times, sponsoring a class is not the same as donating to other ministries I support,” explains Henry. “There is a personal connection with the class and I know how the money is going to be used. I love the way the schools are run and the impact the ministry has on the children who attend. This was a way to stay involved without being present, and I know it will have an eternal value for the lives of the children and their parents.”

Jennifer shares, “It is so rewarding, because you know the whole class, including the teacher, reaps the benefits of the sponsorship.”

This year’s Grade 3s will be part of the Grad Class of 2035. Will you consider being part of their next ten years? See all the classes still waiting for sponsors 💙
