Congregations
The Rio de Vida Church exists in three congregations from Chamché, Mocohán, and Purulhá. Normally, the congregations worship in their own communities, then every six weeks the congregations join together, either at the facility located on the Chisac property or in the villages of the outlying congregations. Currently, limited in-person services are taking place, and the Chamché service is being live-streamed each Sunday.
Hector Beb is head pastor of the Rio de Vida Church. He provides oversight to Rio de Vida’s main congregation in Chamché alongside Pastor Mynor Toc. The Mocohán congregation is under the lay leadership of Esturado Dubon and Ignacio Toc, and the Purulhá congregation is under the lay leadership of Victor Toc and Ervin Coy.
Programs
Some of the Rio de Vida programs include:
- men’s and women’s fellowships
- youth group
- Sunday school
- marriage classes
- leadership development
Normally, each congregation is divided into cell groups which meet in locations chosen to accommodate people in their own neighbourhoods. For now, the church leaders are in touch with their home groups and encouraging the people by phone.
During Covid, our church has been very busy learning to broadcast throughout the week. You are welcome to join our broadcasts in Spanish. We have our Service on Sundays, online Bible studies on Tuesdays, and on Wednesdays, one of our leaders, together with their spouse and children, lead a half hour time of prayer and worship from their home. There is also an archive of Sunday Services available in English.
School of Worship
Rio de Vida has a School of Worship where people are learning to play instruments and training as future worship leaders. They are led by vibrant teachers who love the Lord, several of whom have trained in the National Music Conservatory in the capital. The School of Worship is currently on pause because of Covid.
Working Together
Impact Ministries works closely with pastors from a variety of denominations in the many mountain villages around Tactic, supporting church growth through prayer, pastoral training seminars and donations
