Sometimes hope looks like a bag of groceries

Sometimes hope looks like a bag of groceries.

It did for Axel and his family. That day, his family had no money, no work, and nothing to eat. “Pray,” said his mom, and Axel and his sisters prayed.

Can you imagine being that mom? With hungry kids at home and no food to offer?

But hope was waiting for Alex and his family.

Soon after they prayed, they received news that food hampers would be available at the Vida school for families of students to pick up the very next day.

The long walk didn’t dampen Axel’s spirit. He and his mother received the food hamper with big smiles, simply amazed by the love and provision of God.

When they got home, Axel’s mother prepared a rich and delicious atole for the whole family, along with a plate of hot noodles with tomatoes and vegetables.

“Thank you” they say to everyone who made it possible for this bag of groceries to reach them when they needed it most.

Today is Giving Tuesday and Impact Ministries’ #NoHungryKidsGuatemala campaign. Let’s make sure that kids like Axel don’t go hungry. You can provide hope in the form of school meals – or in the form of a bag of groceries.

You can give 13 nutritious meals for just $10. Or a food hamper for $40. Your gift this Giving Tuesday will provide meals for hungry children like Axel throughout this next school year.

How many meals will you give?
