Children and Families in Guatemala Need You More Than Ever

Children and families in Guatemala need you more than ever this holiday season

For almost 25 years, faithful people like you have come alongside Impact Ministries to grow godly leaders.

You’ve seen students become teachers and you’ve seen futures changed. You’ve been part of breaking cycles of extreme poverty, religious syncretism and illiteracy in Guatemala. You’ve seen a few students in a few classrooms so many years ago become a flood of over 1900 students enrolled in Vida Schools this past year – still taught by teachers who care for them and want them to know how much God loves them.

But expenses in Guatemala have risen dramatically. Everything from pencils and paper to water and electricity has become more expensive. There’s an emerging teacher shortage in Guatemala, pushing teacher salaries higher. The cost to provide an education to each one of our 1900 students continues to rise.

What does this mean for Impact? Right now, plans to build our next school have been put on hold. New spending and the expansion of buildings and programs has been curtailed. We don’t want to get to a point where we are unable to sustain our current levels of operations, and we NEVER want to close classrooms. We already have waitlists for many of our classes, and now, more than ever, children need resources for a brighter future.

Will you help us change this trajectory? Generous donors have agreed to match all donations to the Build a Brighter Future campaign up to $132,000 until December 31st. Your gift will be doubled, allowing us to start the new school year on a solid foundation and provide children with the education they so desperately need.

Psalm 27:13 has been running through my mind: “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. Our God is faithful. He can move mountains. Even the mountains of inflation and teacher shortages in Guatemala. Will you be a part of moving those mountains? Will you build a brighter future for children and families in Guatemala?

Wishing you a blessed Christmas as we celebrate the One who has been so good to us. May your Christmas Be Bright.
