Believers are being baptized!
The brothers and sisters of Rio de Vida gathered this past Sunday to celebrate the baptism of 22 new believers.
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2: 46-47 (NIV)
When Rita reflected on the time when the church family gathered to dedicate the future church to the Lord, she said, “We all took our places on the perimeter of our future church sanctuary and with eyes of faith we envisioned many souls coming to Christ. We were reminded that ‘the time is short’ and determined before God that we would focus our lives on seeing His Kingdom grow.” These have been prophetic words and we rejoice with our Guatemalan brothers and sisters as these first believers are baptized in the new church on Chisac.
Construction on the church sanctuary is progressing and the first phase including the foundation, supporting structure, and roof is complete. Our Guatemalan brothers and sisters are truly grateful for North American support for the construction and operation of the many Impact Ministries projects, but have had the desire to build this sanctuary where they will worship the Lord with their own sacrificial offerings. We praise God for His faithfulness and their response in obedience.
Did You Know? Impact Ministries is growing.
- Three congregations, each with a national leadership team, are all actively engaged in evangelism;
- The Guatemalan congregations have joined hands to build this sanctuary where they can all meet together once every six weeks for a Celebration Sunday of worship, hearing the Word of God, and prayer;
- A fourth congregation is beginning to form in the Village of Villa Nueva;
